Bike maps are a curious thing. Since the 1890’s when the first ones appeared, bike maps have taken an unusually limited and subjective approach to describing street conditions. This map is an attempt to bring objectivity and fine-grained detail back into the genre.
The map was printed in September 2014 with 9,000 copies made, and is currently being distributed for free in the Cincinnati area. Maps are available by request for those outside of the metro, though a full digital, web-optimized version can be found here.
A detailed and technical description of the project is available on the OpenStreetMap wiki.
